Is Autocracy coming?

I have often taken a pessimistic view of the future, but as you know, the electoral prospects are not good and I rate the odds of autocratic control as more likely than not. What does that mean in reality? Today’s WaPo speculates that contraception could be banned, for instance.

I don’t have a call to action here, I don’t want to fall back into the political obsession of recent years, but I also do not want to ignore the signs and regret it later.
